THE OFFICIAL HOME OF
TEXAS LONESTAR BASKETBALL
LETTER OF INTENT AND COMMITMENT
2024 Season
Dear Players, Parents and/or Legal guardians,
Please accept this letter as your invitation to become a member of the Texas LoneStar Basketball, LLC, also referred to as “LoneStar”, organization for the 2024 select season. We are a year-round program that focuses on developing aspiring college basketball players. Team practices and skills training will be scheduled throughout the entire year. We also offer and encourage players to participate in extra skills training sessions throughout the year that are offered at a discounted rate for our players. We strive to be the best and we thank you for choosing to be a part of our basketball family!
This commitment will be from the date of submission through 31 July 2024 (or the last day of the last scheduled tournament for the season). Please read the following thoroughly. In accepting this offer, the identified player below will be committed to Texas LoneStar during the time frame noted above and maintain a:
LIMITED Membership (1 practice/skill session per week on Sunday) during "off tournament season" and a STANDARD Membership (2 practices/skill sessions per week, one during the week and one during the weekend) during "tournament season".
Off Tournament Season: August-January
Select Tournament Season: February-July

Please be advised that LoneStar reserves the right to modify team placement, practice schedules, tournament schedules, practice facilities, coaching assignments, and team names/identifiers at any time during the year. All changes will be made in the best interest of the organization, the team, and the individual players.
The submitted acknowledgment of this commitment letter binds a player to the Texas LoneStar Basketball organization for the current season. Players may not play for another team unless Texas LoneStar Basketball releases the player, or provides consent, and the player complies with applicable AAU/NCAA rules with respect to changing organizations for the state the player is participating in.

By submitting this commitment letter, I understand that participation with another organization or team outside of LoneStar is strictly prohibited without prior approval from Coach Jimmy Stellato, Girls Division Director and 3SSB Head Coach. If playing in other non-school sports, participation in Texas LoneStar will be the player’s first priority. I understand and acknowledge that all scheduled team practices and tournaments are mandatory. Notifying the coach of an absence does not constitute an excused absence.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Eligibility Clause: Texas LoneStar is required to register all players in the NCAA database and players will NOT be allowed to participate in any NCAA certified events with another organization for the duration of this contract (players may only be on one NCAA roster). Adidas prohibits the recruiting of players that are SIGNED and COMMITTED to another Adidas 3SSB organization. Adidas sponsored organizations are bound by a contract to uphold this agreement. If a player makes a decision to leave/quit after committing, the player does risk being deemed "ineligible" to participate by the NCAA and/or Adidas for the remainder of the season.
Skill Training Exclusivity Clause: Signed players must receive APPROVAL prior to participating in any skills training that is hosted outside of LoneStar. Our priority is to remain dedicated to the development of our players and this clause is to ensure that our players to do not engage in training that will be counterproductive to their growth and development. Please send request to train outside of LoneStar to: texaslonestarbasketball@gmail.com or contact us at 940-245-1023.
Travel Clause: 3SSB teams will travel out of town for tournaments. For the 2024 schedule, we will travel to: South Carolina, Nebraska/Iowa, Arkansas, College Station and adidas will add one more to the schedule. Each family is responsible for booking and paying for their own travel. We do provide travel days (so everyone knows when to fly in and out, provided after the tournament solidifies the schedule) and we will have a team hotel that everyone will stay at. *If your family anticipates an issue with travel, please notify us as soon as possible. We make every effort possible to ensure nobody is left behind and are happy to help coordinate host families and shared expense opportunities.
3SSB Player Perks Clause: We offer a lot of "extras" to our 3SSB players. Everything that we do for our 3SSB teams will look a little different- and we believe that's how it should be! While we know y'all appreciate it we just ask that you keep that information confidential and not advertise it to other LoneStar families. We do not want to upset anyone or cause unnecessary turmoil so if you have a question- please ask Coach Jimmy or Annie directly and do not post/ask it publicly.
Example of Perks:
-
Longer skills training sessions
-
Longer practices that include a 30-minute strength and conditioning workout twice a week
-
Priority training spots and session times
-
Free gear (items will vary each year)
-

By submitting this letter, I understand the follow guidelines apply to our family’s membership with Texas LoneStar:
-
Specific team placement is NOT guaranteed UNLESS Coach Jimmy has provided your daughter with a team assignment (i.e. 15U, 16U, 17U 3SSB team). Team assignments are made by the Head Coach and the Director of Coaching (Jimmy Stellato) to ensure the best arrangement is made for the organization, team and players. The final decision for placement is made at the discretion of the Director of Coaching.
-
Players, parents and/or legal guardians MUST always display good sportsmanship during practices, tournaments, games and while traveling during Texas LoneStar team events. Violations can include dismissal from LoneStar, subject to review by the Director of Coaching.
-
Texas LoneStar does NOT guarantee specific participant playing time. Playing time will be earned during practice, continued improvement of basketball fundamental techniques, player’s attitude and at the discretion of the coaching staff per individual player and game situations.
-
It is the responsibility of each player to address issues related to playing time or court related issues with her Head Coach. If a parent wishes to address their daughter’s coach related to the same, they may NOT do so 24 hours before or after a game. The Head Coach must be contacted prior to initiating contact with any other LoneStar staff regarding on court issues, unless extenuating circumstances prevent doing so.
-
All player's social media accounts can be monitored and can be used to determine LoneStar membership continued ELIGIBILITY. The following content is deemed unacceptable and from players profile/pages: drugs, alcohol, sexual innuendoes, nudity, and profane or racial language. LoneStar will only provide 1 warning to the parents if inappropriate content is discovered, second offense is grounds for dismissal. LoneStar reserves the right to determine what is or is not appropriate behavior.
-
Attendance to all scheduled practices and games is MANDATORY for all players. If a player is not able to attend a scheduled event the coach must be notified as soon as possible. If a player has more than 1 unexcused absence, he/she is subject to dismissal from the LoneStar program.
-
Parents of each respective team are REQUIRED to volunteer, as necessary, for their daughter's team to run the score board and time clock for each game.
-
All players MUST obtain an AAU card with Extended Coverage. (If you get the standard coverage, you will have to call AAU to upgrade.)
-
A copy of Birth Certificates and/or School Report Cards must be provided, if requested.
-
Every family is REQUIRED to participate in the annual fundraising event (Free Throw Fundraiser) that benefits their daughter's individual team and the LoneStar organization. All players must raise a minimum of $200, even if they elect not to complete the free throws. The $200 can be raised via fundraising or it can be paid via a buyout option. Anything less than $200 submitted will be added to your next monthly invoice. However, any amount over $200 will be applied to your family's account. Example: Player raised $340, $140 would be applied to your families account starting with the last month of the season moving backwards.
